Privacy Policy
Kaiko Design Pty Ltd (ABN 67 630 794 937), trading as Kaiko Design Interiors, is a Sydney interior design studio. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with and how you can ask about it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Last updated 2 October 2026.
What we collect
When you make an enquiry, book a discovery call or contact us about a rug from our shop, we collect what you give us: usually your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property and a description of your project.
When you become a client, we collect what the project needs. That can include the property address, plans and drawings, photographs and measurements of your home, your budget, your preferences and the details needed to invoice you. We collect this directly from you and, with your knowledge, from your architect, builder or other consultants.
When you visit the website, Google Analytics collects anonymised information about how the site is used: the pages viewed, the device and browser, the approximate location and how you arrived at the site. Google Ads may place a cookie so that we can show our advertising to people who have visited the site. Neither tool identifies you by name.
How we use it
We use personal information to reply to you, to design and deliver the services you have engaged us for, to order and coordinate the products and trades your project needs, to invoice you, to run and improve the website, to show our advertising to recent visitors, and to meet our legal and tax obligations. We only send studio news to people who have asked for it, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
On a project, we share only what each party needs to do their work: suppliers and makers who are producing items for you, builders, joiners and trades quoting or building the work, and consultants such as architects or engineers engaged on the project.
We use software providers to run the studio, including Squarespace for the website, Microsoft 365 for email and files, accounting and invoicing software, and Google for analytics and advertising. Some of these providers store information outside Australia, most commonly in the United States, under their own privacy and security standards.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Photographs of finished projects
We photograph completed projects for our portfolio, website, social media and press features. Permission for this is agreed in your design agreement. We do not publish a client's name or full address with project photography unless you have agreed to it.
How we keep it
Enquiry and project information is kept for as long as we need it to deliver the work, meet our record-keeping obligations and answer questions about past projects. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including password protection, two-factor authentication and limiting access to the people who need it. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email info@kaikodesign.com.au and we will respond within ten business days.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and manage the advertising you see from Google at adssettings.google.com.
Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it within ten business days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law change, and we show the date of the latest version at the top.
